When our CEO Sheldon Xia first imagined building an exchange, it was because of Bitcoin and its tremendous potential to “change the world.” After attending Bitcoin 2022 and interacting with the Bitcoin community up close and in person, we think it’s safe to say that he’s right.
If the record-setting attendance, myriad of fascinating panels, and innovative sponsors weren’t enough to convince you of the power of Bitcoin, then let BitMart’s presence in the Expo Hall be the final word: we believe in the fundamental value and importance of this technology in helping to create an open and more accessible financial system.
A Crypto Conference to Remember
Having a physical presence in Miami was a major success for us. Not only did we continue to sponsor an event we wholeheartedly believe in, but our booth allowed us to meet all sorts of people for the first time!
Giving out stickers, power banks, t-shirts, and information was just the tip of the iceberg. We know that our brand caught people’s attention by the smiles on their faces as they passed by or came up to chat. The number of new and veteran BitMartians that we greeted reminded us that while our services may be wholly digital, they affect and change the lives of real people and make us proud.
While the gigantic volcano that centered the exhibition hall stole the show equally from everyone, we still felt the heat of how crypto excites people and brings them together in a way like no other industry does. In between meeting BitMartians, our staff heard about new Bitcoin products, regulation and environmental concerns, and cultural conversations.
We were paying attention during the keynote addresses and were inspired by cryptocurrency’s ever-expanding reach. The energy and excitement of entrepreneurs and innovators utilizing Bitcoin to its fullest potential was always palpable.
A Bitcoin Bonanza
As the literal foundation for the crypto industry, seeing Bitcoin “out in the wild” and beyond our exchange services was a real treat.
It’s easy to have tunnel vision when you focus on providing the best products as the premier digital asset exchange and offer more than 850 trading pairs. Still, it’s also important to remember how genuinely revolutionary Bitcoin is as a value exchange technology. Art auctions, an open bazaar, and purchasing food/drink were all seamlessly done with Bitcoin over the rapidly developing Lightning Network and had us in awe.
To have so much innovation, passion, and frankly — FUN — under one gigantic roof means that this will be a golden memory for years to come.
Although Bitcoin may no longer be the newest or most cutting-edge project, it is still dominant for a couple of reasons: it works, continues to evolve, and brings people together.
Just like BitMart.
